Darasim became Kahyasi’s second Group II winner in nine days when storming home in the II Prix Kergorlay at Deauville yesterday. Already a Stakes winner and placed twice in Group company, Darasim lead from pillar to post, making light of his eight rivals and stretching his lead in the straight to win by a long looking three lengths.

Darasim’s trainer Mark Johnston commented after the race: “It was a brilliant race and this was a big step up in class.”, while jockey Joe Fanning added: “Darasim was always going well and quickened when I asked him to in the straight.”

Darasim’s victory follows Kalabar’s Group II success last weekend in the Prix Guillaume d’Ornano.
