A successful week for the Aga Khan’s horses in France finished particularly well at Deauville on Sunday with three « green and red » victories to add to that of Darjina in the Prix d’Astarté. Sageburg, a son of Johannesburg and Prix de Malleret winner Sage et Jolie, is now unbeaten in three outings after lifting the Listed Prix Ridgway by two and a half lengths. Sageburg will now take a step up in class with his next objective being the Gr 2 Prix Niel on 16th September.

Darsi’s (Prix du Jockey-Club 2006) sister Darsha won the second race of her short career when finishing five lengths ahead of her rivals in the Class B Prix du Journal le Pays d’Auge. She now heads for the Gr 3 Prix Minerve on 16th August. Dalniya (Sinndar) provided a good end to this first day of the Deauville meeting by taking the Class F Prix de Victot. These successes add to five already on the scoresheet during the week: King Luna lifted the Listed Prix la Moskowa at Chantilly, Kasatana and Bruxcalina both won at Compiègne on 27th July and juveniles Minted and Zaliym opened their accounts at Chantilly and Dieppe respectively.
