The unbeaten Champion Zarkava has given birth to a bay filly by Dubawi on Friday and both are doing well. The foal is therefore a full sister to Group 1 winner Zarak, who stands for his second season at Haras de Bonneval.

Georges Rimaud, manager of the Aga Khan Studs in France, described her as “a lovely filly, full of quality and very elegant. She’s quite similar to her brother Zarak in that she has a deep girth and is quite compact. Zarak has his first foals on the ground this year and from the ones we’ve seen, he is producing nice strong foals that are full of class and quite stamped by himself and by Dubawi.”

Zarkava has a three-year-old son by Invincible Spirit, Zarkallani, who finished a promising second on debut at Saint-Cloud last Thursday. Her two-year-old filly by Siyouni named Zaykava is in training with Alain de Royer Dupré and she has a yearling colt by Gilltown Stud’s Sea The Stars. She is due to visit Frankel this year, reproducing the cross of Zarkamiya, her four-year-old daughter who was a Listed winner and Group 1 placed last year.
