Zarkava and Ervedya will both be covered by Sea The Stars.
Harzand
Gilltown and Bonneval sires Sea The Stars, Siyouni and new sires Dariyan and Harzand will cover some top Aga Khan mares in 2017.
Siyouni’s triple Group 1 winning daughter Ervedya will be covered for the first time by Arc hero Sea The Stars. The Gilltown resident will again cover the Champion filly Zarkava (Zamindar), the dam of Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed Zarak (Dubawi) is due to foal to Siyouni in late March.
In addition to Ervedya, other high-class maiden fillies set to begin their breeding careers are Group 1 placed Candarliya (Dalakhani), due to go to Dansili, and dual Group 3 winner Tanaza (Dubawi) set to go to Frankel.
Ervedya
Gr.1 Dubai Sheema Classic winner Dolniya has had her first foal, a colt by Dubawi, in early February, and the daughter of Azamour is now due to be sent to Invincible Spirit. Her dam Daltama is currently in foal to Kingman, but she will be rested this year as she is due to foal late.
Some of the Aga Khan Studs most successful broodmares are to be sent to Gilltown Stud’s new sire Harzand. The handsome dual Derby winner will cover Zarkasha (Kahyasi), the dam of Zarkava, and Rosawa (Linamix), dam of Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac winner Rosanara (Sinndar). Zarkasha is currently in foal to triple Group 1 winning miler Charm Spirit, as is Visorama. The dam of consistent the dual Group 1 winner Vazirabad will visit Bonneval’s new stallion Dariyan, a Group 1 winning son of Shamardal.
The close family of Zarkava is also represented by Zarshana, her half-sister by Sea The Stars. Currently in foal to Dubawi, she will be covered by Frankel this year.

Classic sire Siyouni has Group 1 winners Dalkala (Giant’s Causeway), Vazira (Sea The Stars) and Zarkava’s first daughter Zerkaza among his 2017 book of mares, as well as Valima (Linamix) the dam of four Stakes performers to date including Prix de Diane heroine Valyra (Azamour). Siyouni’s dam Sichilla, by Danehill, will produce a full sibling to the Haras de Bonneval stallion, as she is to repeat the successful cross with Siyouni’s sire, Pivotal, in 2017.
Sayana (Galileo), a Listed winning and Group placed half-sister to Siyouni, retires to the paddocks and will be covered for the first time by Dubawi, while another Stakes winning half-sister, Siyenica (Azamour) will be covered by second-season sire Golden Horn.
Among other noteworthy coverings, dual Group 1 winner and Arc runner-up Shareta (Sinndar) will be sent to Lope De Vega after she foals to Siyouni this year.
The Aga Khan Studs has announced the 2025 mating plans for some of its star mares, with its roster of five stallions all receiving strong support from the home broodmare band.
