2023 b. f. Siyouni - Narmeen (Le Havre)
Trained by Francis-Henri Graffard
The first foal out of Narmeen, Narissa is a nineth generation homebred who traces back to the Aga Khan foundation mare Teresina, purchased in 1921 by the Aga Khan III.
This Siyouni filly first hit the track in the June of her two-year-old season, making an eight-length winning debut at Saint-Cloud. The impressive nature of her victory pitched her straight into Group company for her next starts, and she justified it by placing third in the Gr.3 Prix Six Perfections and a close second in the Gr.2 Prix d’Aumale.
It was then on to ParisLongchamp for the Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac. Here Narissa finished a very good third - echoing her paternal half-siblings Ervedya and Zarigana, who both placed in this race before going on to win the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches the following year.
Midak is by Footstepsinthesand out of winning Sinndar mare Minya, whose own dam Minatlya is a Group winning sister to triple Australian Group 1 hero Manighar.
More about MidakSpeedy Rayevka is by Group 1 winning sprinter Blue Point out of Stakes winner Rayisa, whose family is that of recent Classic heroine Rouhiya.
