SHEDIAK

SHEDIAK was one of France’s leading juveniles in 2007 during a season which saw the André Fabre-trained colt win on his debut at Deauville in August. This victory was followed by a close second place in the Gr 3 Prix de la Rochette and third in the Gr 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère at Longchamp on Arc day.

The son of Selkirk has been purchased by Paul Boghossian Sr’s Triple B Farms in a deal brokered by agent Eugenio Colombo. He is set to join the California stable of Richard Mandella on 19th January.

Colombo and Triple B Farms were successful last year with the acquisition of the Aga Khan’s Prix du Jockey-Club third SHAMDINAN who lifted the Gr 1 Secretariat Stakes shortly after crossing the Atlantic. He ended his season as runner-up to English Channel in the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Monmouth Park.

SHEDIAK is entered in the American Triple Crown races however his future race programme will be decided over the next few weeks, depending upon his aptitude on dirt and synthetic surfaces. He could also be campaigned in the top-class programme of turf contests for his generation in America.

SHEDIAK is out of the unraced Fairy King mare Shemissa whose half-sisters Shemaya and Shemala are both Listed winners. His grand-dam Shemaka (Nishapour) won the Prix de Diane after having lifted the Prix de Condé as a juvenile.
