LUNABURG

Most look to be destined for a career over jumps, where they will try and emulate recently-sold Aga Khan Stud graduates such as Afsoun (Gr 1 Champion Hurdle and Aintree Hurdle second), Zaiyad (Gr 1 Grande Course de Haies d’Auteuil winner) and EBAZIYAN (Gr 1 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle).

The top price was 48,000€ paid by Ron O’Leary for LUNABARATO, a three-year-old Barathea colt out of Gr 3 Prix Corrida winner Luna Mareza and from the family of Linamix. LUNABARATO has won one race and been placed three times to date for previous trainer Jean-Claude Rouget. Irish-based O’Leary was acting on behalf of owner Jerry McManus, the brother of major owner/breeder JP McManus.

LUNABURG, who has the same grand-dam, Linamix’s dam Lunadix, as LUNABARATO, made 30,000€ from Peak Bloodstock. This three-year-old son of Johannesburg and Listed-winning Luna Sacra came from the stable of André Fabre for whom he finished fifth at Longchamp.
