Karliyna the pick of the bunch

Wednesday 12 January 2005

Richard Frisby yesterday went to 340 000 guineas to secure Karliyna at yesterday's mare sales in Tattersalls.

A half sister to Group winners Kasthari and Karasta, the 3 year old daughter of Rainbow Quest proved the most expensive of the Aga Khan draft at Newmarket.

Grant Pritchard-Gordon secured Kalanisi's half sister Kalambara for 280 000 guineas on behalf of Australian Paul Makin; she is in foal to Linamix and has a Daylami yearling on the ground. Edetana realised 230 000 guineas when knocked down to Ted Naughton. In foal to Sadler's Wells, she is a daughter of Moyglare victrix Edabiya from the family of Ebadiyla and Enzeli.
