Winners for both Sinndar and Sendawar

Tuesday 27 July 2004

First season sires Sinndar and Sendawar have both had a successful week so far, siring winners Active Asset and Rose Luxembourg respectively.

Sinndar’s son, Active Asset was first off the mark when battling courageously to win a maiden at Yarmouth on Monday evening. The Mick Channon trained colt was winning for the first time after finishing an eye-catching second on his first start in May. His jockey Ted Durcan commented: “Active Asset is a lovely, honest horse. We always liked him. He wants a mile now and is a mile and a half horse for next year, when he’s going to be better.

Sendawar’s daughter Rose Luxembourg was winning for the second time when showing an impressive turn of foot to win the Prix de l’Avenir on Wednesday afternoon. She raced behind the leaders during the early stages of this 5 ½ furlong event, before accelerating in the final furlong to win with authority. Her delighted owner Monsieur Henry de Villeneuve said afterwards: “Rose Luxembourg is a small filly but she is all heart. She showed a serious turn of foot today. This is her second win in four starts - it’s an owner’s dream to have a filly like her.
