Sendawar half sister tops Aga Khan draft at Deauville

Tuesday 9 December 2003

Senkaya, a winning half sister to World Champion Miler and exciting young sire Sendawar, fetched the best price of any Aga Khan filly or mare sold this year when making €180,000

at the Deauville December Sale.

The Valanour filly had attracted plenty of attention and was the object of some fierce bidding, eventually being knocked down to the Wertheimer brothers. Out of a Darshaan mare, Senkaya comes from a very strong female line, also being a half sister to Group I placed Sendoro.

Sendawar’s first yearlings were particularly well received at public auction this year, achieving prices up to €200,000. His is the leading 1st crop sire of yearlings in France by average yearling price.
