Daylami 2yos making good impression

Wednesday 23 April 2003

Daylami’s first crop of two year olds have been prompting favourable reports from their trainers, including a couple who have been highlighted in the Racing Post Stable Tours.

Among his two year olds to watch, Tim Easterby highlighted Birthday Suit, a Daylami two year old half sister to 1,000 Guineas winner Classic Park, owned and bred by Lady Halifax, describing her as: “A really nice filly with a marvellous nature.” Birthday Suit was further selected as the reporter’s Dark Horse on the basis that Easterby had said that if he could have any one of his two year olds to call his own, then this would be his choice.

Another one from Daylami’s first crop to have caught his trainer’s eye is a son of the Stakes winning mare Bequeath in training with James Given. This half brother to multiple Group winner Decorated Hero has earned the following compliments from his trainer: “He has only cantered so far, but has a good attitude and looks promising.”

The Aga Khan Studs’ owned and bred Daylami two year olds include a good looking son of Poule d’Essai des Pouliches winner Zalaiyka in training with Alain de Royer Dupré in France, and a powerful colt out of Irish Oaks winner Ebadiyla in training with John Oxx.
