Tuesday 22 November 2011

Dam of Montmartre also features in Deauville catalogue.

The Aga Khan Studs once again consign a high-class delegation of potential and proven broodmares to Arqana’s December Breeding Stock Sale. The 46-strong draft is made up of numerous half-sisters to Group 1 scorers such as Cherry Mix, Clodovil, Sagamix and SIYOUNI and also contains close relatives to champions such as Azamour, Dalakhani, Kahyasi and Linamix. Over half of the Aga Khan Studs consignment is made of three-year-olds, and the majority has been successful on the track.

Of the proven broodmares entered in the sale, a highlight is ARTISTIQUE. This Group 3-winning daughter of Linamix and Group 2 victrix Armarama is the dam of Gr 1 Grand Prix de Paris scorer and young sire Montmartre. She is sold in foal to Cape Cross. The black-type pair of DARAKIYLA (Last Tycoon) and DIAMILINA (Linamix) have both produced several winning offspring. The latter, a Group 2 winner and Group 1 runner-up, is a half-sister to three-time Group 1 second Diamond Green. SAGALINA (Linamix) is a full sister to Arc hero Sagamix and Group 2 winner Sage Et Jolie, who is the dam of Group 1 winner Sageburg. She counts four winning offspring to date, including the promising two-year-old Sagawara and is currently in foal to Azamour. Listed winner SHEMAYA, a half-sister by Darshaan to Stakes winners Shemima and Shemala, has produced three winners and these include the dam of Group 2 winner Shimraan.

The younger generation is represented by the likes of winners CELENZA, a daughter of Dansili out of a half-sister to dual Group 1 scorer Valixir, DAWARIYA (Selkirk), closely related to Darshaan and to the excellent race and broodmare Darara, SIYOUMA (Medicean), a half-sister to Gr 1 winner and Haras de Bonneval sire SIYOUNI, DANDESHA (Dansili), a half-sister to Prix du Jockey Club scorer Darsi, while Galileo filly VAKIYLA placed thrice this year and is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Vadawina who has also enjoyed success in the paddocks as dam of Group 2 winner Vadamar.

Among the unraced fillies, some notable pedigrees are those of DAJARIYDA (Cape Cross), out of a half-sister to Dalakhani and Daylami, DARKOVA (Maria’s Mon), out of a half-sister to the dam of Darjina, and CHERRIYA, a Montjeu half-sister to three-time Gr 1 winner Cherry Mix.
