Pictavia gets Sinndar off the mark

Thursday 27 May 2004

Sinndar had his first winner yesterday evening, as his two year old daughter Pictavia quickened away in good style to win a competitive maiden at Leopardstown.

Breaking well out of the stalls, Pictavia was soon in the lead before drawing away from her rivals in the straight to win by an easy two and a half lengths. The promising filly now looks likely to be aimed at the Listed Swordlestown Stud Stakes over six furlongs on June 7.

Owned and bred by Gainsborough Stud, Pictavia is out of Insijaam, a Stakes winning half sister to 1,000 Guineas winner Hatoof.

A Group I winner at two before becoming European Champion three year old in 2000, Sinndar is enjoying a great start to his career at stud. His other two offspring to race have been placed second and third on their only outings to date.
