KARAKTAR

KARAKTAR entered the Classic picture in no uncertain terms at Longchamp on Monday, stretching away from the opposition to score in the Gr.3 Prix Noailles.

The progressive son of High Chaparral is now unbeaten in two outings at three years old, after impressing when lifting the Listed Prix François Mathet by seven lengths on his seasonal debut on very soft ground at Saint-Cloud.

KARAKTAR put up another highly professional performance on good ground in the Prix Noailles, settling well in the early stages of the race before being asked to quicken by Christophe Soumillon a furlong and a half from home. The colt took control of the race and passed the post three and a half lengths from his rivals, without being put under any pressure.

A most satisfied Alain de Royer Dupré commented, «He’s a serious horse, with a very fluid and effortless action, and a long acceleration. »

KARAKTAR is now likely to attempt to become an eighth winner of the Gr.1 Prix du Jockey Club for H. H. the Aga Khan.

By High Chaparral, the good-looking colt is out of dual winner Karawana (King’s Best) and is a close relative to Gr.2 Doncaster Cup scorer Kasthari and Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac runner up Karasta.
