REDOUTE'S CHOICE

His four year-old daughter She's Clean won the Listed ATC Triscay Stakes in Australia on Saturday; she was bred at Arrowfield Stud, where 16 year-old Redoute’s Choice has stood throughout his stallion career. Her dam Feather Duster is a Stakes-placed half-sister to Kinshasa No Kiseki, Japan's Champion Sprinter-Miler in 2010, from the family of French Group 1 winners Groom Dancer, Plumania and Falco.

REDOUTE'S CHOICE joins his own sire Danehill and the father-and-son pair of Sir Tristram and Zabeel as the only four stallions in history to sire 100 or more worldwide stakes winners from Australasian-conceived foals.

John Messara "This is a wonderful milestone to celebrate, but the future for REDOUTE'S CHOICE is even more exciting as he enters a new phase of his career, standing his first season in Europe."

Indeed, REDOUTE'S CHOICE has just begun serving his first mares at His Highness the Aga Khan’s Haras de Bonneval in France, where he stands at a fee of €70,000 for the 2013 season.

Out of these 100 individual Stakes winners – all conceived in Australasia - seven won beyond the borders of Australia and New Zealand, in the United Kingdom, Germany, Dubai, Turkey, South Africa, Hong Kong and Japan.

Amongst them, some were conceived in northern hemisphere time; the 2008 crop stands out, as it produced the Stakes winners Clianthus, Elzaam, Shaqira and Tazahum.

Also worth noting are Redoute’s Choice’s Stakes winners produced by mares imported to Australia, and/or by northern hemisphere stallions that were successful in both hemispheres (such as Anabaa, Last Tycoon and Royal Academy). More than a third of his total number of Stakes winners (37) is the result of matings with such mares (cf. list, attached).

Amongst them, the Gr1 winners Miss Finland, Gallica, Fashions Afield, King’s Rose, Cheeky Choice, Master of Design, Redoute’s Dancer and Dariana; Gr2 winners Rekindled Interest, Drumbeats, El Daana and Musket; Gr3 winners Galah, Al Samer, Alzora, Kittens, Shaaheq, Florentina, Get Square and Sheer Talent, right down to last week’s Listed winner Global Balance, whose dam was purchased at auction in Europe in 2007.
