Aga Khan Studs send a promising consignment to the sales where a Gr 1 hurdler changed hands in 2008.

The consignors of recent Grande Course de Haies (Grade I) winner MANDALI are sending some exceptionally well-bred, unexposed three-year-olds to Arqana’s forthcoming Summer Sale on 30th June at Saint Cloud. The nine colts and geldings from the Aga Khan Studs include the half-brothers to multiple Group 1 scorers Slickly and Fragrant Mix, and the nephews of top-class performers such as Dalakhani, Daylami, Shawanda and Valanour.

Sendiym (Rainbow Quest, lot 200) is a wild card entry and he won his latest race at Aix-Les-Bains on 13/6 after finishing 2nd on his first race at Toulouse on 17/5. He is the first foal out of a winning half sister to champion miler Sendawar.

Lightly-raced colts Dalayir (Tiger Hill, lot 126) and Dallal (Green Desert, lot 127) are both out of half-sisters to champions Dalakhani and Daylami as well as recent Gr 3 winner Dalghar and Gr 1 placed Daymarti.

Consistent Sidpour (Sinndar, lot 129) has finished in the first three of his four outings to date for Jean-Claude Rouget. His dam has produced six Pattern performers, most notably three-time Gr 1 winner Slickly and his granddam Country Queen lifted the Gr 1 Yellow Ribbon Stakes at Santa Anita. Lot 188 Marakashi recently finished 3rd on his first start at Maisons-Laffitte on 18/6 over a mile. He is a half brother to Listed winners Sceptre Rouge and Marquix.

Lot 190 Vayadar (King’s Best) is out of a winning full sister to Prix de Diane scorer Vereva and half-sister to dual Gr 1 winner and sire Valanour. Lot 191 Keraloun travels to the Saint Cloud sales ring from John Oxx’s yard in Ireland and this half-brother to dual Australian Gr 2 runner-up Kerdem has been placed on four occasions in Ireland.

The two un-raced members of the consignment, lots 128 Shawgar and lot 192 Farasan, are half-brothers to Pattern performers. Pivotal gelding Shawgar is out of Listed winner Shawara who has already produced Listed placed and jumps scorer Shazand. Shawara is the half-sister to Irish Oaks and Prix Vermeille heroine Shawanda. Sinndar’s son Farasan comes from a top Lagardère family, and his six Stakes performing half-siblings include Fragrant Mix, Fracassant and Alpine Rose, as well as the dams of Under The Rainbow, Starfala and Mussoorie.
