Masani tops the Tattersalls Autumn Sale

Wednesday 30 October 2002

John Oxx trained Masani achieved the second highest price ever at the Tattersalls Autumn Sale when making 250,000 guineas on Tuesday evening.

The Irish Cambridgeshire winner was knocked down to bloodstock agent John McCormack on behalf of clients from Hong Kong. He commented after the sale: “You couldn’t ask for a more straightforward horse and he has been bought from a very good team”.

The Indian Ridge three-year-old colt is out of a winning daughter of dual Group 1 winner Masarika, who took the Prix Robert Papin as a two-year-old, before landing a classic victory the following season in the 1984 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches.

Masideha, a winning grand-daughter of Masarika, is due to be sold at the Goffs Ireland November Sale on Saturday 23rd November as part of the Aga Khan Studs draft. For more information on this filly and other Aga Khan horses for sale, please consult our sales section.
