After a successful initial season as first jockey to the Aga Khan’s French stables, Christophe Soumillon will continue as retained jockey for the green and red silks for at least a further two years.
The 21 year old jockey will ride as first jockey for the Aga Khan horses trained by Alain de Royer Dupré at the Aiglemont racing stables in France, and when these horses travel abroad. He will also ride important Aga Khan horses trained in England by Sir Michael Stoute when Johnny Murtagh is not available.
In 2002 Soumillon rode the Aga Khan colt Khalkevi to Group 1 success in the Grand Prix de Paris and recently steered Dalakhani, the 2yo Darshaan half-brother to Daylami, to win the Group 3 Prix des Chenes at Longchamp.
