Two recent Gr 1 wins boost pedigrees of ARQANA yearlings.

The catalogue for ARQANA’s forthcoming yearling sale features a strong delegation of yearlings by Aga Khan Studs sires. The Haras de Bonneval-based Sinndar is well established on the European scene and his credentials were boosted recently by YOUMZAIN’s classy Grand Prix de Saint Cloud success. The dual Derby winner and hero of the Arc de Triomphe is the most represented numerically of the AK sires at Deauville with 11 lots. These include Lot 121, a half-sister to two Listed performers, Lot 142, a half-brother to Group placed Watar, out of a half-sister to Gr 1 Grand Prix de Paris winner and sire Grape Tree Road, Lot 179, out of a winning full-sister to multiple Group placed Welcome Millenium, Lot 300, a colt out of a Listed-winning dam and half-brother to two Listed-winning fillies, Lot 432, named Sammy Glaz, a close relative to SHAWANDA, Sinndar’s Irish Oaks and Prix Vermeille winning daughter, Lot 448, a filly whose dam is a half-sister to dual Gr 1 scorer Vespone, from the family of Verveine and Vallée Enchantée, Lot 514, a filly whose grand dam won the Gr 3 Meld Stakes and has produced dual Gr 2 winner Predappio. Other Sinndar yearlings are Lots 435, 443, 444 and 476.

Gilltown Stud’s Dalakhani is fast becoming a leading stallion thanks to the Classic victory of MOONSTONE and also to Group wins by Démocrate and Centennial, all from his first crop. During the Saturday and Sunday sessions, four Dalakhani yearlings will pass through the Deauville ring. Lot 158 is from a similar cross to Irish Oaks winner MOONSTONE, who is the half-sister to this colt’s second dam, as well as Gr 1 winner Cerulean Sky and Gr 1 second L’Ancresse. Lot 182 is a half-brother to Ascot Gold Cup second and dual Gr 2 winning stayer Geordieland, Lot 270 is out of a Listed winning mare and is another from the family of SHAWANDA and Lot 275 is a half-brother to Gr 3 second Light of Joy.

The first two of four-time Gr 1 winner Azamour’s yearlings to go on public sale are Lot 288, a half-sister to three winners from the family of Green Tune, and Lot 311, a colt out of a winning half-sister to dual Listed scorer and Group placed Kurm, a relative to Westerner.

The late Kahyasi is responsible for one yearling in the catalogue. Lot 382 is a half-brother to three black-type performers.
