The daughter of Barathea, out of the Darshaan mare Alasana, had not run since finding the ground too heavy in the Irish 1000 Guineas. Back on firm ground, she never looked in danger of getting beaten, and won the mile Listed race as she pleased, earning herself the following compliments from her Jockey Jamie Spencer:
“She was always going well for me and there was never much danger of me getting beaten. She gave me a really good feel and I’d say she’s a better filly now than she was earlier in the season.”
This was a perfect confidence boosting run for this talented filly, who will now be campaigned at the highest level this Autumn.
Alasha is from one of the oldest Aga Khan families that traces back to foundation mare Mumtaz Mahal. Her dam Alasana is closely related to the disqualified Oaks winner, Aliysa and is from the immediate family of Group I winners Nishapour, Alborada, Quarter Moon and the sire Desert Story.
