Gilltown and Bonneval welcome visitors in January

Wednesday 2 January 2019

The Aga Khan stallions will be on show.

The Aga Khan Studs are pleased to open the gates of Gilltown Stud and Haras de Bonneval to the public on 11th and 19th January respectively, as part of the popular Irish Stallion Trail and Route des Etalons events.

SEA THE STARS, sire of two of the stars of the European season in 2018, Irish Oaks winner and Arc de Triomphe runner-up Sea Of Class and staying champion Stradivarius, will be an attraction at Gilltown Stud. His first son at stud, Sea The Moon, was one of the leading first season sires last year and the Kildare stud will present another of his promising sons, HARZAND. This handsome stallion was a dual Derby winner and his first crop are yearlings in 2019.

SIYOUNI was crowned champion sire in France for the second consecutive year in 2018, thanks notably to the exploits of Prix de Diane and Prix Saint-Alary winner Laurens, who also lifted the Sun Chariot Stakes and Matron Stakes in England and Ireland. The sire heads the line-up at the Haras de Bonneval in Normandy, where visitors will also be able to view young sires ZARAK and DARIYAN. The blue-blooded ZARAK, by Dubawi and out of the invincible Zarkava, will see his first foals born in the forthcoming weeks, while the promising DARIYAN, who also boasts an excellent pedigree, is expecting his second crop of foals.

Gilltown Stud will open its gates from 10am to 4pm on Friday 11th January, and the Haras de Bonneval will welcome visitors on Saturday 19th January from 10am to 4.30pm. Refreshments will be served during both events. For any further information, please email information@agakhanstuds.com.
