Sayar, recent winner of the Gr.3 Joe Mac Novice Hurdle was sold at the Goffs HIT Sale in 2016.

The Aga Khan Studs draft for Goffs

Monday 16 October 2017

Gr.3 winner Sayar was part of the consignment last year.

At the Goffs HIT Sale where exciting unbeaten hurdler SAYAR was sold to join the Willie Mullins stable last year, the Aga Khan Studs present six colts and geldings. Knocked down for 65,000 Euros in November 2016, SAYAR, by Azamour, has shown great talent over hurdles to win both outings to date for new connections, including the Gr. 3 Joe Mac Novice Hurdle recently at Tipperary.

Winning gelding EZANAK (lot 121) boasts a promising profile, as this son of Sea The Stars is out of a half-sister to the famous Group 1 winning quartet of Enzeli, Estimate, Ebadiyla and Edabiya. This is an excellent dual purpose family as Ebadiyla is the dam of the Gr. 1 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner Ebaziyan as well as Group 1 placed Eyshal, while EZANAK himself is a half-brother to five winners, including Group 3 winner Emiyna. The lightly raced gelding won his maiden over nine furlong.

Lot 122 MASSAYAN is the winner of two of his five races, over nine furlong and a mile and a half. By Iffraaj, the colt is out of winning Dalakhani mare Masiyma, a half-sister to Irish St Leger runner up Massiyn, and she has produced Listed scorer Massinga.

SAFARUK (lot 120) and TOURSOUN (lot 119) are both unexposed sons of Sea The Stars. Once-raced SAFARUK is beautifully-bred, being a half-brother to triple Group 1 winner and Arc third Sarafina, as well as Group 3 scorer Sandagiyr and Sanaya, a Listed winner and Group 1 third. TOURSOUN, who has made just two public appearances, is out of Listed victrix and Group placed Tarakala, and is a three-quarter brother to dual Listed scorer and prolific Stakes performer Tarana (Cape Cross).

The consignment is completed by the unraced pair of KHANISARI (lot 118) and VERAPOUR (lot 19). The former, a grey son of Dark Angel, is out of a full-sister to Kadabi (Dalakhani) who was successful on the flat and over jumps, notably lifting the Gr. 3 Prix de Pépinvast over hurdles, while his second dam is a half-sister to none other than dual Derby hero and influential sire Kahyasi.

The sole juvenile of the draft, VERAPOUR is a son of Dalakhani and Velandia, a Sadler’s Wells half-sister to Group 1 winners Valanour and Vereva, and he is a close relative to Yashgan and Vayrann, also successful at the highest level.
