Five yearlings out of Aga Khan mares to sell at Inglis

Friday 31 March 2017

Arrowfield Stud presents progeny of top sires and Aga Khan broodmares.

A quintet of yearlings out of beautifully bred Aga Khan Studs broodmares feature in the catalogue for the forthcoming Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale to be held from 4th – 6th April. In a continuation of the joint venture between the Aga Khan Studs and Arrowfield, the yearlings are by three-time champion Australian sire Redoute’s Choice, and young stallion Animal Kingdom. The maternal pedigrees more than match up to the high-class sires, with half-sisters to ZARKAVA and AZAMOUR among the dams. Recent graduates bred by the partnership and sold at public auction include South African Group 1 winner WHISKY BARON, and Listed scorer AZAZEL.

The sale will begin with a grandson of Gr. 1 Prix Saint-Alary victrix VADAWINA (Unfuwain), dam of Gr. 2 scorer Vadamar and Listed winner Vedouma, both by Dalakhani. The colt (lot 1) is from the second crop of US champion 3yo colt Animal Kingdom, winner of the Kentucky Derby and Dubai World Cup, who was recently represented by his first two-year-old winners.

Another Animal Kingdom colt, lot 472, is the son of ZARKAVA’s half-sister ZARAKIYSHA (Kendor). This dam has produced three winners to date from three offspring to race, and these include Gr. 3 third and Gr. 1 Queensland Oaks fourth Zarzali (Hussonet). The elite family of ZARKAVA needs no introduction, and the champion filly herself recently saw her son Zarak lift the Gr. 3 Dubai Millennium Stakes in Meydan.

AZMIYNA, a Galileo half-sister to champion racehorse and much-missed sire AZAMOUR, is the dam of lot 47, by Redoute’s Choice. The unraced broodmare is also a half-sister to Gr. 2 winner and Gr. 1 third Arazan.

Two fillies by Redoute’s Choice complete the quintet and the first of these is lot 193, a daughter of Redoute’s Choice and KERATIYA (Iron Mask), a Group 3 winner as a juvenile in France. All of KERATIYA’s six half-siblings have been successful on the track, and three are Stakes performers.

Lot 220 also presents an appealing profile, as this daughter of Redoute’s Choice and the multiple Group placed MANDISTANA (AZAMOUR) is from the family of triple Australian Group 1 winner Manighar (Linamix).
