Saturday 23 July 2005

when breaking the track record to win the Gr. 1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes.

Azamour yet again proved his talent and versatility to beat a high class field of Group 1 winners in the King George. Already a Group 1 winner over a mile and a mile and a quarter, he finished superbly over his first mile and a half trip. Mick Kinane rated him "very high class...ultra consistent and very sound...and one of the best horses I have ever ridden". He now heads the betting for the Arc and the Breeders' Cup Turf.
