High Class Aga Khan Trio for Arc sale

Friday 16 September 2016

Blue-blooded Listed scorer Darabad highlight of Arqana draft.

The Aga Khan Studs present three winning colts, including two Stakes performers, at a sale which has seen the likes of Rajsaman and Zaidpour change hands in the past. This year’s Arqana Arc Sale will take place at Chantilly on 1st October.

Winner of the Listed Grand Prix de Clairefontaine over a mile and a half in August, the talented DARABAD, lot 37, presents a promising profile. By Dansili, this second son of Gr. 1 Hong Kong Vase winner Daryakana (Selkirk) is a half-brother to this year’s Gr. 1 Prix Ganay scorer Dariyan. DARABAD is a grandson of Prix de Diane and Prix Vermeille victrix Daryaba, dam of Daramsar who won the Gr. 2 Prix du Conseil de Paris after also winning the Grand Prix de Clairefontaine.

From a top-class Aga Khan Studs family rooted in the Jean-Luc Lagardère breeding operation, VEDEVANI (Dubawi), lot 13, is out of Gr. 1 victrix Vadawina (Unfuwain) who has already produced Group 2 scorer Vadamar and Listed winner Vedouma, both by Dalakhani. His dam is a half-sister to four Stakes horses including Group 1 winner Vazira and is closely related to Gr.1 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp winner in 2016 Vadamos.

VEDEVANI was runner up as a juvenile in the Gr. 3 Prix des Chênes and has finished in the frame in four Group and Listed contests this season at three years old. He was recently third in the Listed Prix de Turenne on 14th September at Saint-Cloud.

The draft features a consistent juvenile, lot 64 PAZEER, by leading sire Siyouni. The colt has finished in the money on all five of his outings and he is the winner of two races, over seven furlongs and a mile.
