Siyouni filly lifts the Gr. 3 Prix Imprudence

Twelve months after ERVEDYA kicked off her Classic season with success in the Prix Imprudence, SIYOUNI saw another of his daughters, SPECTRE, shine in the 2016 edition of this Group 3 contest. The Chantilly-trained filly can now boast Classic claims of her own.

From the second crop of Haras de Bonneval sire SIYOUNI, SPECTRE has made considerable progress over the winter. The easy winner of her maiden at Strasbourg last September, SPECTRE was making her seasonal debut in the Prix Imprudence over seven furlongs on heavy ground. Under a strong ride from Pierre-Charles Boudot, she stuck bravely to her task to draw level with long-time leader Midweek in the final furlong and then accelerated again to score by three quarters of a length in this French Guineas trial.

Both her jockey and trainer Markus Münch believe SPECTRE should have no problem tackling the straight mile of Deauville for the Gr.1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches on 15th May, a race won at Longchamp by ERVEDYA last year.

Owned and bred by her trainer, SPECTRE is the second foal of her dam Inez (Dai Jin), who is a half-sister to Group winners Irian and Ibicenco.

SPECTRE adds her name to that of the unbeaten Trixia, another Classic prospect for the Aga Khan Studs sire SIYOUNI this season.
