First foal for Charm Spirit

Saturday 16 January 2016

The first foal by the triple Gr.1 winner is a filly.

The first foal by triple Group 1 winner CHARM SPIRIT was born on Friday at Tweenhills Farm & Stud. A bay filly, she is out of the Listed wining maiden mare Valonia and was described by David Redvers as “a smart foal who has lots of quality and class”.

Bred by Haras des Monceaux out of a Montjeu mare, CHARM SPIRIT is the highest earning son of the excellent sire of sires Invincible Spirit. He was a winner at two before placing third in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère Gr.1 under the colours of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani. His victories in three consecutive Group 1s at three in the Prix Jean Prat, Prix du Moulin de Longchamp and Queen Elizabeth II Stake made him one of the best milers of his generation.

CHARM SPIRIT covered a full book of mares at Tweenhills Farm & Stud in 2015 and is now standing at Haras de Bonneval alongside Classic sire MAKFI for the 2016 season in the continuation of a partnership between Qatar Racing, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani and the Aga Khan Studs. Both stallions are standing alongside the leading second crop sire in 2015 Siyouni and multiple Group 1 sire DALAKHANI.
