Aga Khan filly tops Goffs sale

Monday 22 November 2004

An Aga Khan filly once again topped the Goffs November bloodstock sale when Akilana was sold to Kieran McManus for 170,000 Euros yesterday.

The three year old filly by Mark Of Esteem is a half sister to Group II Henry II Stakes winner Akbar, as well as Stakes winner Akhyar. Placed three times this year, she is out of an unraced daughter of Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Akiyda, herself a full sister to Akarad.

Other popular fillies from the Aga Khan draft included Darabanka, a winning half sister to Darasim, and Karlaka, a Barathea half sister to two Group winners, both sold for 70,000 Euros.

Further fillies and mares from some of the Aga Khan’s most successful families are entered in the Deauville December sales which start on December 4th.
