Kahyasi has Group II winner

Monday 2 August 2004

Darasim won the Group 2 Goodwood Cup in style on Thursday with a fluent front running display. The son of Kahyasi was winning his second group race of the year

and his fifth stakes race of his career.

The ultra consistent Darasim was not extended to account for stable mate Royal Rebel by two and a half lengths at the line. His trainer, Mark Johnston commented: “Darasim has the perfect blend of speed and stamina. His owner Markus Graff is the type who likes a challenge and could consider a trip to the Melbourne Cup.”

Bred by the Aga Khan Studs, Darasim was bought privately out of John Oxx’s yard as a three-year-old. He is out of Dararita, a daughter of the Group 1 winner, Darara.

On the same day Kahyasi’s daughter, Hasili had another stakes winner when Cacique easily won the Group 3 Prix Daphnis at Chantilly. Cacique is a sibling to Group 1 performers Bank’s Hill, Dansili, Heat Haze and Intercontinental.
