Daylami two year olds catching the eye

Tuesday 6 April 2004

While Daylami’s first crop three year olds have been making a good impression on the racecourse, his second crop of two year olds have also been pleasing their trainers on the gallops.

A couple in particular have been highlighted in recent Racing Post stable tours, including Pearl King, trained by Michael Jarvis, which prompted the following comment from his trainer: “I like Daylami as a sire and think he is going to be a good stallion. He is getting reasonably precocious sorts and this one is a nice horse.”

From a stable of 70 two year olds, Brian Meehan pointed to Perfect Choice, a son of Daylami and Fairy Contessa, as a likely Royal Ascot candidate. Perfect Choice was bought by McKeever St Laurence for 155,000 Guineas at the Tattersalls October Sales last year.
