In-form Dalakhani celebrates third August Group winner.

Hot on the heels of the news that Arc winner DALAKHANI will join the Aga Khan Studs Haras de Bonneval roster in Normandy for 2016, the proven stallion has enjoyed a series of big race successes.

DALAKHANI recorded a new Group 1 winner with the success of SECOND STEP in Germany in the month of August, then the progressive CANDARLIYA opened her Group account a week later, and ALEX MY BOY took Group 2 honours on the following weekend in Deauville.

ALEX MY BOY demonstrated his class when producing a late run and accelerating away from the field in the Gr.2 Prix Kergorlay, recording his second consecutive Group victory in staying contests after taking the Prix de Barbeville in May. The four-year-old has now established his reputation as a top class stayer and could be aimed towards the Gr.1 Prix du Cadran on Arc weekend, although his handler Andreas Wolher completed a Prix Kergorlay – Melbourne Cup double last season with Protectionist.

The regally-bred ALEX MY BOY is out of dual Oaks heroine Alexandrova (Sadler’s Wells).

A week earlier, DALAKHANI was on the sires’ scoresheet thanks to his daughter CANDARLIYA. The three-year-old filly continued her upward curve to lift the Gr. 3 Prix Minerve, extending her winning run to four, also including the LR Prix de Thiberville. CANDARLIYA should continue to step up in grade, with the Gr.1 Prix Vermeille on September 13th a possible future target.
