SINNDAR AND TIMARIDA

First Sinndar foal born at Gilltown

Thursday 31 January 2002

The first foal by dual Derby and Arc de Triomphe winner Sinndar and out of multiple Group I winner Timarida has been born at the Aga Khan Studs in Ireland at Gilltown.

The Bai colt was foaled on the 31st January, and according to Irish stud manager Pat Downes: “He is a very attractive and correct individual. I am delighted with him”.

Sinndar won the Group I Aga Khan Studs National Stakes as a two year old, before going on to achieve the unique feat of winning the Vodafone Derby, the Budweiser Irish Derby and the Arc de Triomphe in the same season as a three year old.

Timarida, the foal’s globetrotting dam, won three Group races in succession at the end of her three year old career, including the Prix de l’Opera and the E P Taylor Stakes. At four she scored Group I successes in the Grosser Dallmayr Preis-Bayeriches Zuchtrennen at Munich and the Beverley D Stakes at Arlington before taking the Irish Champion Stakes on her home ground at Leopardstown.
